Jewellery Care

How to care for sterling silver jewellery?

To enhance the life of your sterling silver jewellery, the following steps are advised :
  • Avoid contact with all liquids and chemicals, such as perfume, hair spray, sea water, ammonia and chlorinated pool water, contact with these substances will increase the rate at which tarnishing occurs.
  • Always protect your sterling silver jewellery from sharp blows, scratching, chemicals, direct sunlight and heat/cold, especially humid.
  • Ensure remove your sterling silver jewellery before washing your hands, getting in the shower, swimming, sleeping.
  • To clean your sterling silver jewellery simply polish the metal using a microfibre cloth, please wipe them down with a microfibre cloth (your sunglass cloth will do the trick)
  • When you put away your sterling silver jewellery, make sure it’s completely dry and kept it in the soft box when you bought the jewellery. This will protect it from scratches as well as help slow the tarnishing process. Try to keep pieces apart so they don't rub together.
  • To further reduce the tarnishing effect, if possible, store your sterling silver jewellery in plastic zip lock bags to avoid contact with the air.
  • Remember to put your sterling silver jewellery on after you’ve used any hair spray, body spray or perfume, as these products can tarnish it. Make sure your jewellery is the last thing you put on before you go out.
